Meet the Chef

Chef Char Smith is a wife and a mother of 4 who knows what it's like to juggle the time constraints that life brings. She is a graduate of the Secchia Institute of Culinary Education, one of the highest ranked culinary schools in the country. That accomplishment, along with her work in various restaurants and hotels, she has learned the skills necessary to be a well-rounded chef. Her attention to detail, combined with her use of fresh ingredients, allows her to create a menu that is both simplistic and flavorful. After her completion of culinary arts, Da’Lish personal chef service was created in 2013. Da’Lish focuses on providing flavorful and health conscious meals with a Mediterranean twist. The focus is for her client’s to enjoy restaurant style dining in the comfort of their home. In addition to meal prep, Da’Lish offers private dining service for any occasion I.e. intimate dinners for two, bridal showers, baby showers, company luncheons, and much more.

My love for food started at a very young age. I can recall helping my grandma prepare for holiday meals that seems liked it was for 100 people. We would be in the kitchen from 6am until dinner was served around 5pm. I learned a lot from those experiences, even some of secret recipes I still use today. The reason why I love food is because it has a way in uniting people, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion etc. It’s something comforting about enjoying an amazing tasting meal amongst family and friends. It provides fellowship, great laughs and conversation. I truly enjoy cooking for any occasion. Food to me is like the medical field. It’s always changing and evolving but those core things that you learn from experience stays with you. My favorite cuisine would have to be Italian. I LOVE everything about it...the pasta, pizza, ravioli, the language. I can’t wait to visit there one day to soak up the culture and learn some things about their culinary world. I’m excited to be joining my sister ,Chef Char, as she embarks on this journey to bring delicious food to people. She is an amazing chef with a high knowledge about food.
